FAQ's

Hey mamas! We want to help you feel incredible as your bump grows. Most of our clothes take you from bump to bae, meaning you can wear the pieces while pregnant, nursing and beyond. Win win win. Here are a few FAQ's to help you shop. Have other questions? DM us on our Instagram page @bumpandbae and ask away!

Do I really need a maternity wardrobe or can I get away with my regular wardrobe?

You definitely don't need to break the bank, as some pieces you currently own will work just fine for most, if not all of your pregnancy. Think your fave denim jacket, some of your flowy relaxed-fit tops and maxi dresses. Some stretchy non-maternity pieces may not go back to their original fit if you wear them throughout your entire pregnancy. You do however, want some neutral, versatile basics that you can dress up or down. Try to choose pieces that are maternity and nursing friendly, that way you'll get the most wear out of them.

How do I know my size?

Maternity and nursing wear match up with your pre-pregnancy size.

How do I know if it will fit me if I am ordering it online?

We do fit sessions on each piece we carry. You can find these short videos in our Instagram highlights under Fit sessions. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have via our Instagram account @bumpandbae. Items can be returned or exchanged if you decide the piece doesn't work for you. Check out our Shipping & Returns page for more information.

What basic pieces are a must?

It depends on what seasons you are pregnant in, however here is a great base wardrobe: 2 long line tanks (black and white/nude), a mix of 4 tees or long sleeves that are also nursing-friendly, 1 pair of high-waisted leggings, 2 work slacks, 1 black high-waisted skirt and 2 dresses.

Do I really need nursing-friendly tops?

If you intend to breastfeed, we recommend a few tops that allow for easy and quick feeding access. From personal experience, I regret not having invested in a few nursing tops. Often I would be out, and my daughter would be hungry so up went the top exposing my stomach in the middle of winter. I would have preferred having a few versatile tops that made for a discreet, quick and easy feed on the fly. Along with a few nursing-friendly tops, you can also wear your maternity tanks under long-sleeved tops and sweaters.
